whatpet.net is a concept and brand built for my senior thesis project at UW–Stout. An online community-driven pet care resource, whatpet.net strives to raise the standards of care for all pets, especially smaller and 'less valued' species such as reptiles and fish. Taking the 'guilt trip' out of animal welfare campaigns, whatpet.net utilizes easy-to-navigate iconography systems and wikipedia-style crowdsourced information gathering to help pet owners quickly find the information they need to give their pets the life they deserve.

Pet Info. Informative iconography is used to help users easilly navigate and distinguish the different traits each pet posesses.

Discuss. Users are able to ask questions, participate in discussions, and share ideas in the discussion area of the site.

The identity utilizes bright colors and friendly shapes to make learning about proper pet care more friendly and less 'guilt-trippy'.

The posters feature common 'myths' about more misunderstood pets.

The handmade business cards feature all four of the brands' logos.

Each card was hand stamped, coated with a tactile matte-coat spray, and then carefully bordered with UV reactive paint.

The brand includes cute illustrations of common pets.

The final show was displayed on a lightbox table to accent the bright colors of the brand. A laser-cut neon acrylic sign featured the logo, and the canvas posters spread the message.
